15 July 09 World Famous Strawberry Eating Competition 2009

One of the defining traits of spring time in Redlands is the availability of luscious juicy strawberries at the Redland Spring Festival. Along with this seasonal attraction comes the tradition that involves the rigorous test of one’s digestive ability to graciously consume copious amounts of succulent strawberries and cream in record time.

The RedFest Strawberry Eating championship will be held at RedFest on the September 5th and 6th 2009. The winner will become part of the 51year old history of the event and receive a trophy to adorn their collection. Not to mention a free feed of mouth-watering strawberries.

To become part of the celebrations, you or your team can nominate and participate at a number of convenient venues listed below and this year we will take the challenge to our neighbouring city, Brisbane, to test their gastronomical fortitude in the Queen Street Mall.

Corporate teams are invited to attend any of the heats and to participate in the finals. No previous experience is required and corporate uniforms are allowed and encouraged. Your talent to eat our locally grown strawberries will reflect your business capabilities and illustrate your commitment to an age old tradition here in the Redland City.

Strawberries are strictly quality controlled to ensure their juiciness and sponsored by local fruiterer Burgo’s at Victoria Point Lakeside. Winners receive a bonus free entry RedFest to compete in the finals.
