15 July 09 Scaredies come to RedFest 2009

Elevated RedFest hilarity is what you can expect from these internationally famed comedians. John and Rusty aka The Scared Weird Little Guys burst on to the vibrant Melbourne comedy scene in a frenzy of harmony, hilarity and broken guitar strings in July 1990. Since then the Scaredies have been consistently touring, recording, doing radio and television appearances and playing at Festival programs, comedy clubs and public humiliations.

The Scared Weird Little Guys have performed regularly at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Adelaide Fringe Festival as well as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Spiegeltent. They featured at the closing ceremony of the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, warming up the 90,000 strong crowd for 45 minutes. And all of those performances, just a rehearsal for their grand debut at this year’s RedFest.
RedFest program Coordinator Patrick Burke remarked, “As a festival favourite around Australia, it is so exciting to finally have the Scaredies bring even more fun and laughter to RedFest”.

Well recognised and laughed at on live television programs such as Hey Hey It’s Saturday, Good Morning Australia, The NRL Footy Show, Sale of the Century and Rove Live, the duo remains one of Australia’s sought after comedy acts. With several awards including an ARIA award for “Best Comedy Release: Bits and Pieces in 2004, the Scaredies will have RedFest supporters splitting their sides with laughter.
